Welcome to The Brussels Review, a unique literary platform founded to fill the void of such publications in Belgium, with Brussels at its heart, the capital of Europe; thus the name.
At TBR, we believe in the power of words and the magic they create when arranged just right. We are a sanctuary for ideas, opinions, and narratives, a place where creativity is celebrated, and diversity is embraced.
Our mission is to provide a platform for voices from all corners of the world. We are particularly committed to promoting non-native English writers and translations, while also welcoming works from English native creators. Our goal is to create a rich tapestry of perspectives, experiences, and expressions that reflect the world’s diversity.
We have a simple rule here at TBR: there are no forbidden words, subjects, or any form of censorship. We welcome all ideas and opinions, as long as they hold literary value. We believe in the freedom of expression and the importance of open dialogue in literature.
TBR will be published quarterly in print (ISSN 3041-4423) and continuedly online (ISSN 3041-4431).
Submissions to TBR are free and accepted all year round. We understand the challenges that writers, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, face. So, to support these authors, we offer sometimes compensation, considered case-by-case, the details of which are decided by the Editorial Team. With the expansion of our reach, we will extend the compensations to all authors.
