Tuesday morning in bed
relapsed from Monday night in bed
we aren’t getting any closer
unless one of us becomes a cannibal
staring at your neck and lips
I wonder if we have already
overstayed our welcome
I can’t escape these fingers jungling
or decipher their geometry
like those sprawling interstates
you love from cities far too big for me
like the spider webs I dream to be
but always seem to tear apart
