Mark A. Michaels is a New York City–based writer with a JD from NYU School of Law and MAs in American Studies from NYU and Yale. He has written, published, and been produced in fields ranging from law and ornithology to self-help, film, and theatre.

Poetry was his first creative focus. He won an award as a high school poet and published in several small magazines in the 1970s. After a long hiatus, he has recently returned to writing poetry.
