From the left window of my room
I watch the world drown in chaos
and sometimes bliss.
Mother and child hurrying to church
school kids playing in rainbow of uniforms
the cacophonic sound of a chainsaw in active murder of an unwilling tree
the annoying melody of moving vehicles
A madman whiling away life in tatters
men throwing wild punches over coins
impatient drivers and riders breaking bones
scattering flesh and spilling blood
I sit here beside my window
watching life happen
before me
and without me
I don’t know what side of this world
will snatch me first
forwith I open my door and let myself out.
